Nicole Ann Reiser Bennett, of Millsboro and formerly of O'Neill, Nebraska, died on June 15, 2012 as a victim of homicide.

Born in O'Neill, Nebraska on Sept. 15, 1976, she was the daughter of Stephen and Margaret Ann Schulte Reiser, who survive her.

She was a lovely person admired by the Church Community in which she was active, a devoted mother and wife who adored her family, and loved being a part of this community. She loved God, and worked as a director of the child care center of Bay Shore Babies, and SPLASH, and was a member of Bay Shore Community Church in Gumboro. The children at Bay Shore were special to her. She felt Sussex County was her home, and it reminded her of her native home.

She leaves behind her husband, Kevin Edward Bennett, whom she married in 1998. She also leaves her three young children: Lauren Nicole; Emily Louise; and Allie Marie. She is also survived by her in-laws: Bob and Mary Bennett, of Millsboro and a brother: Craig Reiser, and his wife Rachel, of North Fork, Nebraska. She was preceded by her sister, Emily in 2003. Also surviving are nieces: Carlie and Adelinne; and her nephew: Ben; her sister-in-law: Kelli Bennett Cooper, and husband Robert; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family members. Of special note are a large circle of Church friends.

A Memorial Service and Celebration of her life will be held at Bay Shore Community Church on Wednesday, June 20, at 2 pm, 36759 Millsboro Hwy., Millsboro, DE 19966. Pastor Danny Tice will officiate. She will be flown to Nebraska for a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church and services entrusted to care of Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill, Nebraska, with interment at O'Neill Cemetery beside her beloved sister.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to: The Nicole Reiser Memorial Fund, c/o WSFS Bank, Millsboro Branch, 26644 Center View Drive, Millsboro, DE 19966.

Nicole was our 4 year old son's teacher. He's now 7. When I asked him if he remembered her he replied "yes, she's the lady who sang me to sleep when I was afraid to take my nap". Rest in peace Nicole...

Lord, often when a loved one dies, the tears and laughter get all mixed up together. The absence of the person makes us reflect on the good times we shared with them, and laughter interrupts our tears. I think that's that's your way of helping us begin to heal. Lord, help us to revel in the laughter when it comes and let the tears flow when necessary. If we lean on each other, and on YOU, we can move through grief in a life affirming way. Lord, we do not complain because you have taken Nicole from us, but rather we will thank you for having given Nicole to us for this brief moment in time! Heavenly Father, look after Nicole's husband and 3 beautiful children and give them guidance and comfort as they travel through these troubled waters! In your name we pray, Amen! Greta Monroe

Warm Summer Sun

Warm summer sun,
Shine kindly here,
Warm southern wind,
Blow softly here.
Green sod above,
Lie light, lie light.
Good night, dear heart,
Good night, good night.
