Age 87, of Lynchburg, VA, passed away Monday, February 14, 2011 at Lynchburg General Hospital after a brief illness. She was the widow of Elwood Greenwalt Moody Sr.

Born July 19, 1923 in Appleton, MD, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Annie Lee Peterson. She was a faithful member of Covenant Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by two sons, Elwood "Chip" Green-walt Moody Jr. and his wife, Barbara, of Lynchburg, Stephen Lee Moody and his wife, Susan, of Sedona, AZ; two sisters, Faye Fritsche and her husband, Bill of Palm Harbor, FL and Allene Spence and her husband, Paul, of Elkton, MD; two grandchildren, Sara June Moody of Midlothian, VA and Brian Elwood Moody and his wife, Ryan, of Lynchburg. She was preceded in death by one brother, Carlton Peterson and two sisters, Beverly Mac-Guiness and Ann P. Lee.

A celebration of Nina's life and faith will be held Saturday, February 19, at 11 am at Covenant Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Margaret Anderson officiating. The family will receive friends Friday, February 18, at Diuguid Waterlick Chapel from 6-8 pm. Interment will be in Virginia Memorial Park.
