AGE: 64 • Newark

Noo Mangat, self-declared genius, passed away from esophageal cancer March 13, 2016.

Noo, son of the late Mohan and Shaminder was born in London, England. He graduated from Imperial College, London and SUNY-Buffalo with a PhD in chemical engineering.

Noo worked for Hercules Inc. for 33 years until retiring at 57. Noo's passion was soccer and he began coaching for Kirkwood Soccer Club upon his arrival to Delaware and continued to do so for over twenty years. When not on a soccer pitch, Noo could be found watching the English Premier League, drinking tea, and completing crossword puzzles. Traveling with his wife Jane and going to the Y were Noo's favorites as well.

Noo was predeceased by his parents and sister, Haspal. He spent 36 years with Jane, raising their four sons, Matthew (Melissa), Stephen (Christine), Jeffrey (Cindy), and Daniel (Kara). Noo also spent the past five years chasing, teaching, reading to, and playing with grandchildren Mia, Maddox and Brayden.

An Encomium for Noo Mangat will be begin promptly at 1 pm on Saturday afternoon, March 19, 2016, at the University of Delaware Clayton Hall, 100 David Hollowell Drive, Newark, DE. Casual attire as well as soccer apparel is encouraged. Oggy Oggy Oggy - Oi Oi Oi
