Oscar T. Foraker, Sr.

AGE: 89 • New Castle

Oscar passed away on Friday, July 8, 2016. He was a Freight Conductor for the Pennsylvania Railroad which is now called Conrail. Oscar gave over 50 years of service to the Railroad where his nickname was "Ozzie OT Overtime". Oscar was a World War II US Navy veteran who served on two battleships, Chicopee and Tuscaloosa. He enjoyed gardening, listening to Hank Williams, watching the Philadelphia Phillies and was a member of the American Legion in New Castle and the Railroad Union.

Oscar was preceded in death by his parents, John and Elda Foraker; brothers, Lawrence John Foraker, Sr., John Davis Foraker and Alvin Dee Foraker, Sr.; sisters, Coleta Zena Ewell and Evelyn Melissa Foraker; grandson, Charles Harry Foraker, Jr. and great granddaughter, Dejah. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Betty L. Foraker; sons, Ozzie Foraker, Jr, Wayne Allen Foraker, Sr. and Charlie Harry Foraker, Sr.; brothers, Orval Leon Foraker, Sr. and Joseph Lee Foraker, Sr. ; sisters, Ethel Helen Piecara, Elda Helen McGovern, Theresa May Santore and Zena May Santore; 6 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and other extended family.

Funeral services will be 7 PM on Friday, July 15 at NICHOLS-GILMORE FUNERAL HOME, 212 E. Justis St., Newport, where visitation will begin at 5 PM. Burial with Military honors will be at 11 AM on Saturday, July 16 at Gracelawn Memorial Park.

Oscar's family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Christiana Care and Compassionate Care Hospice for their wonderful care. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate contributions in Oscar's memory to Compassionate Care Hospice, 405 E. Marsh Lane Suite 4, Newport, DE 19804.
