Pamela Elizabeth Raboin Obituary
Pamela Elizabeth Raboin

AGE: 69 • Ocala, FL

Pamela Elizabeth Raboin passed away while being surrounded by family on June 15, 2017 in Ocala, Florida at the age of 69. Pam was born in Wilmington, Delaware on December 17th, 1947 to Allen and Gene (Thompson) Tartaglia.

Pam grew up in Wilmington, Delaware and graduated from Conrad High School. After high school, Pamela attended and graduated from the University of Delaware with a degree in Education. In 1969 Pamela married Michael Raboin. They lived in Seaford, Delaware; Newark, Delaware and Wilmington, Delaware. Together, Pamela and Michael raised three children. Their home was a constant place of gathering for family and friends alike. She was a teacher at A.I. DuPont Middle School for 17 years; a co-owner of Gandalf's Fortune Video in Greenville, Delaware and was a member and volunteer for the Alpha Delta Kappa Organization for Women Educators. Pam and Michael retired in 2008 and 2012 respectively, and moved to Ocala, Florida in 2014.

Pamela enjoyed many activities including playing the piano, basket weaving, quilting, shopping (especially thrift stores!) and pottery. She loved traveling, particularly to the beaches of Delaware and to visit family, especially her grandchildren. She influenced many lives during her years as a teacher and inspired many of her students to become teachers themselves as well as professional writers.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Michael Raboin, her siblings Allene Tartaglia and James Tartaglia; her brother-in-law, Kent Highhouse; her children Brian Raboin, Michelle (Raboin) Faller, Kevin Raboin; her children-in-law Noelle Fox, Jeremy Faller, and Corey (Johnson) Raboin; and her grandchildren Giavanna Raboin, Chase Raboin, Cassidy Faller, and Juliet Faller.

Pamela requested a private burial and funeral. The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for her during her illness, especially her caregivers Terri Dunbar and Gail Lassitter and Hospice of Marion County, Florida. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in her memory to CurePSP on their website, or to CurePSP, 404 Fifth Avenue, 3rd Floor, New York, NY 10018.
