Pasquale Nicholas "Pat" DeNardo Obituary
Pasquale "Pat" Nicholas DeNardo

Pasquale "Pat" Nicholas DeNardo, age 83, of Newark, DE formerly of Dobbs Ferry, NY, passed away on June 12, 2013 at Union Hospital in Elkton, MD.

Pat is preceded in death by his parents Nicola and Stella DeNardo and his sister Domenica Mazzarella. He is survived by his loving wife Anita DeNardo, his children Nicholas (Susan) DeNardo of Landenberg, PA, Patricia (Jonathan) Buzby of Bear, DE, Louis (Loredana) DeNardo of Valhalla, NY and his grandchildren Cynthia and James DeNardo, Alexander, Riley and Tyler Buzby. Pat is also survived by his brother Vito DeNardo of West Palm Beach, FL.

Pat graduated from Ardsley High School in 1949 and Saunders Trade school in 1950. He was a retired police officer of Village of Ardsley in NY (23 years) and a retired carpenter from Mercy College of Dobbs Ferry, NY. He served in the United States Air Force in Japan from 1951-1955 and was a member of the VFW. Pasquale was also a member of the Embassy Club (Dobbs Ferry, NY), Friends of St. Margaret of Scotland Parish and the Newark Senior Center.

While raising his family, Pat particularly enjoyed driving his family on vacations, especially to Disney World and, as his kids described it, "What seemed like every battleground and one-room school house on the East Coast." Upon retirement, Pat and Anita moved to Newark, DE to be closer to family. The two enjoyed vacationing in their motorhome up and down the East Coast and spent winters in Fort Myers, FL.

Pat enjoyed working with his hands well into retirement. Whether it was fixing a leaky window or building a sunroom on the back of his house, he was happiest when using his handy skills to help others. He took up the sport of golf and spent the latter part of his life enjoying watching the success of his older grandchildren and doting over his younger ones.

A viewing will be held on Monday June 17 at Beeson Funeral Home 2053 Pulaski Hwy, Newark, DE 19702 from 4-7pm. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday June 18 at St. Margaret of Scotland Roman Catholic Parish 2431 Frazer Rd, Newark, DE 19702 at 10:30am. Burial will be private in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that all contributions be made to Evergreen 3000 Newport Pike, Wilmington DE 19808 302-995-8448.
