Carroll, Mother Viola Carroll (Cannon), husband Harold (Hap)Thorpe, sister, Mary V. Saunders, brother, Joseph John Carroll and her beloved pet's Bruiser and Stinky Girl. Our beloved Patty lost her brave battle to cancer and will be dearly missed. Her faith and humor helped sustain her strength throughout her life.

She is survived by three children, Ronnie Wijkowski (Shannon), Richard Smith (Jenn), and Charlese Smith all of Wilmington, three wonderful grandchildren, Michael, Brandie, and Braydon of Wilmington, sisters Theresa Veasey (David) and Rose M. Moore (Blaine) of Delaware City, brother; Sgt. Major (Ret) William F. Carroll (Millicent) of Minnesota, and a cousin, Tommy Cannon (Sally) that was like a brother. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She love watching Law & Order, Chicago PD and Blue Bloods. Patty could outwit anyone and making everyone laugh came natural to her. Her humor will be missed but the memories will stay with her family and friends always

All her brothers and sisters played an important role in her life. However, sister Rose, played many important roles in Patty's life, not only being her sister and friend but also caregiver, personal secretary, partner in crime, the list goes on. They were inseparable, soulmates you might say.

Patty was born and raised in Wilmington, De. She attended St Thomas school in Wilmington. She was a jack-of-all-trades, inspired to figure it out, by her father. Patty had many jobs for which she enjoyed, just to name a few; she was a beautician and managed a hair salon, worked in a leather factory, refinished furniture, worked many years with sister Mary at Lloyd Saunder roofing as secretary and was caregiver for many. Please join her family for a Celebration of life to be held at 2pm on Saturday June 16, 2018 at 400 Adams St., Delaware City, De 19706.
