Pauline Delores Albano, age 86, passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2015. Pauline was born in Devon, PA on August 26, 1929, daughter of the late Massimo and Elena (DiLeonardo) Marconi. A graduate of the Saint Frances Hospital School of Nursing in 1950, Pauline was a registered nurse by love and by profession for 40 years. She had a joy for living with a strong competitive streak and loved winning at card games, computer Solitaire and Scrabble. Pauline loved all sports and was a huge fan of University of Delaware and Notre Dame football as well as Olympics ice skating and gymnastics. Pauline enjoyed her lifelong friends, special memories at the beach and volunteering with the Ministry of Caring. Above all things, she was endlessly devoted to her family, deeply cherishing time spent with her loved ones.

Pauline was predeceased by her husband, Charles A. Albano, Sr. and by her siblings, Anthony Marconi, Peter Marconi, Louis Marconi, Natalie Volk and Marie Ferrazzo. She is survived by her sisters Virginia Longobardi, Anne Fusca and Elaine Vignola; sisters-in-law Theresa Marconi and Rosemarie Smith (Clifford); and her children Dominick A. Albano II, Anthony G. Albano (Bridget), Claire F. McElwee and Charles A. Albano, Jr (Debbie). Pauline is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, David McElwee (Carissa), Andrea Camoirano (Justin), Brianna Albano, Danny Albano, Jeffrey McElwee, Jr., Dana Albano, Matt Albano and Hallie Albano and great-grandchildren Julena, Ava, Alexa, Dante, Nolan and Landon and a host of extended family and friends including cousins, nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 4th & Bancroft in Wilmington, on Tuesday, September 22 at 11am. Interment will follow in Cathedral Cemetery. Family and friends may call at St. Thomas the Apostle Church on Tuesday morning, prior to Mass, from 9-10:45am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ministry of Caring, 506 N. Church Street, Wilmington, DE 19801 or to The Salvation Army, 400 N. Orange Street, Wilmington, DE 19801. The family would like to thank Parkview Nursing & Rehabilitation and Somerford Place for their wonderful care of Pauline.
