Randall Carter Tester, otherwise known as Randy, age 72, of Delmar, MD and formerly of Wilmington, DE, passed away suddenly at home on Wednesday, August 31st, 2016.

Born in Hurley, VA on August 16th, 1944, Randy was the son of the late Charles and Pearl (Hipps) Tester. He attended Hurley High School where he played basketball and football. Randy graduated in 1962 and moved to Wilmington in 1967. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army from 1965 to 1967. Randy worked as a final painter at the General Motors plant in Wilmington, DE from 1966 until his retirement in 1999.

A sports enthusiast and devoted golfer, Randy proudly coached his children and grandchildren in baseball and softball. He was a religious man and was a member of Cedars Church of Christ for many years.

In addition to his parents, Randy is preceded in death by his two brothers, Richard and Estel Tester. He is survived by the mother of his children, Susan (Daigle) Tester, his sisters, Francis Fry, Joyce Stalvey, Margaret Davis, and Charlotte Bryant, and his brother, Glen Tester. He is also survived by his children, Scott, Marlena, Russell, and Ashley, and his grandchildren, Gavin, Autumn, Talmage, Liam, and Reese.

A celebration of Randy's life will be held at the Residence Inn at 240 Chapman Rd, Newark, DE 19702 on Friday, September 23rd from 6:00 - 9:30pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations to be made to a college scholarship fund for Randy's grandchildren.
