Richard M. Little

AGE: 89 • Wilmington

Richard M. Little passed away on December 27th 2016 surrounded by family and loved ones. He was 89.

He was predeceased by his brother, Harry Gordon Little and his sister, Jean Bovard.

Richard was born in Wilmington, Delaware, son of Harry Gordon Little and Grace Leisher Little Bullis. He joined the Navy when he was 17 and worked for James Julian Contractors for over 30 years.

With more than 50 years in theatre, movies, commercials, and independent films, Richard played numerous leading roles and garnered years of accolades from theatre critics. With his quick wit and easy manner, he was often sought after as a master of ceremonies.

The tallest, funniest and smartest man in the room, Richard could win any trivia game and sing every song and jingle written between 1930 and 1970. At the age of 50, he built his own home. He was an ardent lover of jazz, golf, good books, film, cats, and travel.

An accomplished artist, Richard was best known for his portraits that ranged from penciled caricatures to fine art in oils.

His family and friends meant everything to him, and he frequently called them to say so. He was beloved by many.

He is survived by his daughters Terry Jengo (John) and Karen Gilliford (Tony Denoi) his son, Alan Little, nieces, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great nieces, great nephews, and long-time companion and friend, Karen Jessee.

A Celebration of Life service will be held privately.
