Bob was a proud graduate of Salesianum High School in Wilmington. A devoted family man, he was married to his caring wife, Sandra, for 56 wonderful years. Bob loved family vacations, especially those that included ones with his pride and joy-his granddaughter, who he affectionately called "his Missy". Bob will be remembered as a loving husband, amazing father, and proud and doting Poppop.

Bob was preceded in death just last year by his brother, James Patton, Sr. He is survived by his wife, Sandra (Hardt) Patton; his daughter, Brenda and son-in-law, Jamie Yates of Newark; his granddaughter, Melissa Yates of Newark; his sister, Mary Kachmar of Wilmington; his brother, Thomas Patton of Wilmington; his brother, Terence Patton (Ann) of Florida; his sisters-in-law, Patricia Patton of Wilmington and Carol Brown of Millsboro; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, John and Patricia Hardt of Bear and Arthur and Faye Hardt of New Castle; as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Bob's nephew, Arthur Hardt, who was always there when needed by Uncle Bob and Aunt Sandra.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, August 3 from 5 to 7 PM at Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Rd., Wilmington, DE 19808. A Celebration of Bob's Life will be held on Thursday, August 4 at 11 AM at Doherty Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Gracelawn Memorial Park in New Castle.
