Robert "Bob" Dubroff Obituary
Robert "Bob" Dubroff

Bob passed away peacefully January 4, 2016. Born September 12, 1944 to the late Beatrice and Howard Dubroff, Bob grew up with his older brother Richard and his younger twin siblings, Victor and Connie. A graduate of Mt. Pleasant Senior High School in 1962, Bob was the only guy that always ordered Pine floats at the Charcoal Pit.

After graduation, Bob enlisted in the U. S. Air Force and valiantly served his nation as an expert Pararescue Jumpmaster and Survival instructor in the South Pacific from 1962 -1966, ensuring the safety of our nation's warriors who flew during the conflict in Vietnam and Southeast Asia. After meeting and marrying the captivating Jeanette Sponseller of Hanover, PA while they were serving our nation in Hawaii, they made their home in Wilmington, DE and raised three children, Brian, Beth and Missy.

Throughout the years, Bob worked in construction with his family, owned and managed up to seven restaurants and sandwich shops at one time, mastered and sold telephone systems and ran his own contracting business. Since the early 1970's when he was first diagnosed with cancer and given a dire prognosis, Bob invoked his youthful spirit of noncompliance and continued for more than four decades of a spirited life, being an integral part of the lives of his daughter-in-law, Kathy, his son-in-law, Kyle and his three grandchildren. Bob enjoyed traveling; he loved knowing people and being a part of their lives.

Predeceased by his parents and his sister Connie, Bob is survived by his wife, Jeanette ("Jan"), children Brian (Kathy), Beth Kolbe (Kyle) and Missy and his adoring grandchildren, Sarah Dubroff and Paige and Pierce Kolbe. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Friday, January 8, 2016 at Schoenberg Memorial Chapel, 519 Philadelphia Pike, Wilmington, DE. In lieu of flowers contributions would be appreciated to Compassionate Care Hospice, 248 E. Chestnut Hill Rd. Newark, DE 19713.
