AGE: 91 • Wilmington

Robert E. "Bob" Meader, went to be with his Lord, peacefully in his sleep on Saturday April 15, 2017.

He was born and raised in Lexington, KY and was the son of the late Emily and Arthur Meader, Sr. Bob proudly served his country in the US Army. He graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. After graduation he began his career with the Boy Scouts of America in Kentucky, Pennsylvania and Delaware for 20 years, retiring as an executive. He was also a Boy Scout Veteran for over 80 years. He was a committee chairman for Troop 99 and served on the Eagle Scout Board of Review. Bob, after retirement, also worked for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company and then Nationwide Insurance, both as an agent. He was active at Fraim Senior Center, where he was a lifeguard and a water aerobics instructor. He was a charter member of the Delaware Senior Olympics and was awarded over 100 medals in local and national Senior Olympics. Bob was also an active member of the Presbyterian Church of the Covenant for over 40 years, where he was an elder and a deacon. He presently was a member of RiverCross Fellowship. Bob enjoyed back packing, canoeing and camping.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Alice E. (Banks) Meader; 5 children, David (Bonita), Mary Ann Jeanes ( Greg), Don (Shirley), Stephen (Frances) and Patricia Fronczkowski (Ed); 10 grandchildren, Anthony, Eric, Jason, Kristin, Theresa, Nicole, Bryan, Chris, Sarah and Daniel and 5 great grandchildren. Bob is also preceded in death by his brother Arthur, Jr.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at Foulk Manor North for all their care and love for Bob.

A Celebration of Bob's life will be held at RiverCross Fellowship, 77 McCullough Dr., Suite 2, New Castle, DE 19720, at 11 am, on Wednesday, April 26, where friends may call after 9:30. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to RiverCross Fellowship or Boy Scout Troop 99, c/o Presbyterian Church of the Covenant, 503 Duncan Rd., Wilmington, DE 19809
