AGE: 86 • Dover

Robert Lee Hunter, died peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, September 2, 2015.

He was born in Rochester, PA to the late Paul and Emma Hunter. He retired from the DuPont Company as a lithograph operator. Robert was a member of the masonic Ionic Lodge #31, Newport. He was an avid baseball fan and once was summoned by Connie Mack to try out for the Lancaster Red Roses, a farm team of the Philadelphia Athletics in 1945.

Robert's wife of 30 years, Ada M. died in 2011. He is survived by 2 children, Evan Hunter and his wife Caroline of Dover and Emma May Hunter and her husband Bruce Richards of Tellico Plains, TN; 3 step granddaughters; a sister-in-law, Carol Hunter; a niece, Anita L. Hunter; a nephew Paul Hunter and his wife Danielle along with other nieces and nephews from a previous marriage. He is also preceded in death by his brother Paul L. Hunter, Jr.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to all the staff at Delaware Hospice, Milford for all the love and care given to Mr. Hunter.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, September 5 from 9am-10am at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Homes, 3710 Kirkwood Hwy, Wilmington, where a graveside service will follow at Red Clay Creek Presbyterian Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
