Robert "Todd" Pleasanton Obituary
Robert "Todd" Pleasanton

Ocean City, MD formerly of Newark, DE - Robert "Todd" Pleasanton, age 54, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family and friends on Feb. 6, 2018, following a long courageous battle with cancer. He was known to all who witnessed him fight through the battle as "Superman".

He was born and raised in Newark, Delaware. He attended Christiana High school and then went on to join the Marines. He spent many years working in construction for Corrado Construction, known there as "Biggie". He eventually became a successful self-employed concrete contractor. He retired his business, after initial successful cancer treatment to pursue his passion for fishing and living on the water in Ocean City, Maryland. When he was not riding shotgun with his faithful dog "Buster", Todd was often spending hours on the phone with friends simply because he loved connecting with people and held a special place in his heart for each and every one of them. Todd also enjoyed Nascar racing, football, hunting, fishing, and crabbing. He enjoyed trying his luck on football pools, lottery tickets and an "occasional" trip to the casino to play his favorite "Bam" slot machine. He loved social gatherings and being the center of attention with an infectious laugh and a voice that made his presence known. He also loved to volunteer his time to assist the Delaware Maryland Paralyzed Veterans association, with activities such as baseball, hunting, and fishing.

Todd is survived by his loving and devoted wife and companion, Marlene Pleasanton of 16 years, his three children, Brittany Pleasanton, Hunter Pleasanton, and Matthew Pennington, his mother Frances Hughes, his sister Kim DiPasquantonio, (Tony), nieces Amanda Dzwilewski (Chris), Gabrielle and Savannah DiPasquantonio, and many more cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 1pm at the Daniels & Hutchison Funeral home, 212 North Broad Street, Middletown, DE with visitation from 12:00 to 1:00 pm. Todd requested a celebration of his life be held this summer at his home In Ocean City, Maryland.
