Ronald H. Foster passed away on October 28, 2015 at the age of 73.

Mr. Foster was a native of Wilmington, DE and was employed by Bank of Delaware and subsequently PNC Bank of Delaware for 35 years. He started as a part time employee in the money room and worked his way up to Assistant Vice President and Compliance Officer before his retirement in 1997. During his career, he worked in the branch network before going into operations, where he eventually headed up the IRA department. He became known as the bank's IRA expert. He conducted annual seminars for all branch employees to keep them informed of all IRS changes made to IRA rules and regulations. He also conducted seminars outside the bank for customers and organizations, who wanted to educate themselves on IRA's. He was an instructor for the American Institute of Banking, as well on both IRA's and I.R.S. Compliance requirements in regards to The Bank Secrecy Act and Tax Information Reporting.

Prior to his retirement, he became the Bank Secrecy Act and Tax Information Reporting compliance officer for the Delaware market and was responsible for rewriting the PNC Bank Secrecy Manual for the entire organization to bring it up to date with all of the latest regulations.

He loved to fish and golf and spent many hours enjoying those favorite hobbies with family members and close friends. He enjoyed setting up trips for family and friends to both fish or play golf, which he took them ocean and bay fishing and to golf at Myrtle Beach and other closer by locations. He also loved to travel with his wife, Joan, and together they visited many of our National Parks over the years.

He was the son of the late Clifford T. Foster and B. Erlene Foster, also of Wilmington. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, the love of his life, Joan Fleetwood Foster; their daughter, Lisa Dukes; their only granddaughter, Hayley Dukes; his sister, Patricia Cummings and her children, Carol Youst, Jeanine White, Mark Cummings and their spouses. He is also survived by his aunt, Sharlene Foster, and her son, Kurt Foster, and daughter, Susan McAllister and their spouses and his cousin, Charles (Chuck) Rhoades. In addition, he is survived on his wife's side of the family by his sister-in-law, Rebecca Majeski, and her husband, Mike, as well as his brother-in-law, Jack R. Fleetwood, Jr., and their sons, daughters and grandchildren. He felt honored and blessed to have been loved and supported by such a wonderful family, that included many more than those mentioned above.

A service will be held Thursday, November 5, 2015 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Highway, New Castle, DE 19720 for family and close friends prior to burial. There will be no viewing at his request.
