Ronald H. Veasey, age 76, of Wilmington, DE, transitioned to be with the Lord, on May 8, 2017. He was born August 5, 1940, in Salem, NJ to the late Thomas R. Veasey Sr. and Frances (nee Mills) Veasey. Ron graduated from Salem High School in 1958 and went on to attend Rutgers University. He proudly served in the United States Air Force for eight years, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. After moving to Wilmington, DE he received a degree in Radiology Technology from the Medical Center of Delaware. He earned a degree in Medical Sonography Technology from Hahnemann University and a Bachelor's of Science in Allied Health from Widener University. Ron went on to become the program director of Diagnostic Medical Sonography at Delaware Technical and Community College's Allied Health Program. Ron retired from Christiana Care Health System after 33 years of service.

Ron was a faith-filled follower of Christ. He earned a Bachelor of Theology Degree from United Christian College in 1987. He served faithfully as a deacon and later became Associate Pastor of Fight for Families Fellowship Church, under direction of Senior Pastors James & Carol Hinmon, until his health prevented him from fulfilling his duties. Ron enjoyed fishing, a delicious meal, and his Dallas Cowboys. Ron will be dearly missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Ron is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Lolita (nee Gross) Veasey, whom he married February 17, 1962; their six beautiful children: Brian Veasey Sr., Dawn Tucker, Nicole Veasey, Candice Veasey, Allyson Veasy-Wilson, and Heather (Sean) Veasey-Hogan; 12 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; his beloved sister and brother, Margaret Gibson and Mark Veasey; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his brothers, Thomas Veasey Jr. and Marvin Veasey and his sister, Francine Veasey-Whitt.

Ron's life will be celebrated with a visitation on Monday, May 15, from 10 AM-Noon at the Strano & Feeley Family Funeral Home, 635 Churchmans Road, Newark, DE 19702. A memorial service will follow at Noon. Burial will be held privately at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
