AGE: 82 • Dagsboro

Rosalee H. McCabe, age 82 of Dagsboro, DE went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 14, 2015 after a valiant battle with lymphoma.

Rosalee was born in Frankford, DE on April 24, 1933 daughter of the late Marcus and Hester (Davis) Hudson. She retired from the Frankford Elementary School in 1987 as a cafeteria worker with over 18 years of service. Following her retirement, Rosalee was a faithful volunteer at the Millsboro Christian Storehouse.

Mrs. McCabe was a lifetime member of the Dagsboro Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and was also a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Dagsboro, DE. Rosalee and her husband, George enjoyed traveling and spending their winters in Florida. Rosalee also loved going to gospel and country music concerts in the area and making crafts. She will be forever remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her three siblings, Ruth Ann Burton, Leroy J. Hudson and Marcus P. Hudson. She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, George F. McCabe; two children, Preston McCabe, Sr. (Mona) of Cocoa Beach, FL and Penny Townsend (Raymond, III) of Dagsboro, DE. Rosalee is also survived by five grandchildren, Preston McCabe, Jr. of Atlanta, GA, Angel Crawford (Craig) Jacksonville, FL, Bradley McCabe of Ft. Knox, KY, Paige Cathell (Chad) of Laurel, DE and Peyton Townsend of Dagsboro, DE and four great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at the Frankford Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 43 Thatcher St., Frankford, DE 19945. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at St. George's Cemetery in Clarksville, DE.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Rosalee's name to the Dagsboro Volunteer Fire Company, PO Box 128, Dagsboro, DE 19939 or to the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center, 4701 Ogletown-Stanton Rd., Newark, DE 19713.
