Rose Teoli Canfield

AGE: 93 • Wilmington

Rose Teoli Canfield, age 93 of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 17, 2016.

Rose was born and lived in Wilmington all her life and was a graduate of Wilmington High School High School. She was employed in the Engineering Department of E. I. DuPont de Nemours Co. with more than 39 years of service. She was a 60 year member of the DuPont Country Club. During those years, Rose was the President of the Active Women's Social Group for two years prior to the Country Club having its own Social and Activities Department. She volunteered for 18 years on the Registration Committee of the LGPA Golf Tournament, registering the Golf Professionals prior to their playing in the tournament. Rose was an active member of St Catherine of Siena R.C. Church since it was first built. She volunteered at the Ingleside Assistant Living Apartments in a monthly sing-a-long with her husband.

Rose owned and operated, along with her husband for 26 years, the Rosemount Camping Resort, a family camping resort located in the foothills of the Pocono Mountains in PA. Rose was voted Campground Owner of the year in 1975. She and her husband sold the resort nearly 30 years ago to their niece and nephew, Marigrace and Michael Canfield. When her husband, an author, began his writing career, she formed and became President of the Interlude Publishing Company, LLC. She managed and operated the company and designed all his book covers. She had also studied art at Indian River Community College in St Lucy, FL, specializing in Oil Painting.

Mrs. Canfield will be remembered by her devoted and loving nieces, nephews, godchildren, and cousins; whom she loved dearly as if they were her own children. Rose was predeceased by her loving and devoted husband, Patrick M. Canfield, with whom she was married for 64 years and nine months; mother and father, Anna and Gerard Teoli; brothers, Roy, Albert and Anthony Teoli; and sisters, Jeannette Pack and Louise Teoli.

Words cannot express enough gratitude to her wonderful neighbors and friends for being so helpful and caring after her husband's death, and for the love and concern shown to her by Pastor Father Hynes and Sister Theresa of St Catherine of Siena Church.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Catherine of Siena R C Church, 2503 Centerville Rd in Wilmington, on Saturday morning, August 27th at 10 am. Entombment will follow in Cathedral Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday morning, prior to Mass, from 9-10am.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in honor of Rose to St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church "Catherine Fund", 2503 Centerville Rd, Wilmington, DE 19808 and/or the Emmanuel Dinning Room, 121 N. Jackson St., Wilmington, DE 19805 to feed the hungry.
