She was a generous donor to many charities, an avid reader and crossword puzzle enthusiast. She also enjoyed gardening and watching the Westminster Kennel Club dog show. Ruth worked in the insurance industry for many years before retiring, then often spent winters in Florida. Her dog, Sammy, was her constant companion and devoted friend.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David A. Moore. She is survived by her brother-in-law, Thomas Moore and sister-in-law, Regina (Moore) Brainard. She will be dearly missed by many friends and family members, especially her niece, Marcella (Moose) Brainard.
