Sally West Hickman of Ocean View, DE passed away at the age of 88 on February 18th, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her husband Raymond J. Hickman, her father John T. West. Jr., her mother Lillian Frank West, and her sister Thelma West Hadley.

Sally was born in Hazelton, Pennsylvania, lived in Allentown and Barto Pennsylvania, and spent her summers at her father's family home in Ocean View, Delaware. She attended a one-room school in Hereford, PA, East Greenville High School and graduated from the University of Delaware in 1949 after which she married the love of her life, Raymond J. Hickman. They settled in Bethany Beach and founded Hickman Real Estate which they owned for thirty years. During their retirement they moved to Ocean View and spent winters in Ft. Myers Beach, Florida.

Sally was a founding member and past president of the Bethany-Fenwick Chamber of Commerce and served on the Board of Directors of Baltimore Trust Company. She belonged to Mariner's Bethel United Methodist Church in Ocean View where she was a member of the choir and served as a church organist.

Sally loved time spent with her family and friends, her grandchildren and pets, and especially sitting on her porch, reading and enjoying the sunsets. She was a wonderfully devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and aunt, whose family meant the world to her.

Sally is survived by her daughters, Laura Lee Hickman, Jane Tribbitt and her husband Tim, Nancy Rhodes and her husband Tim, her beloved grandchildren, Tyler Tribbltt and his wife Abbe, Matthew Tribbitt, West Rhodes and her many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Sally's life will be held on Tuesday, February 23rd, 1:00pm at Mariner's Bethel United Methodist Church in Ocean View, DE, where family and friends may call beginning at !2 noon.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Mariner's Bethel United Methodist Church, 81 Central Avenue, Ocean View, DE 19970 or Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
