AGE: 78 • Newark, DE

Sara "Jane" Kamenc (Godwin), age 78, of Newark, DE died peacefully on Thursday, October 22, 2015 in the Seasons Hospice unit at Christiana Hospital. Heaven truly gained a very special angel.

Jane was born February 12, 1937. She was the daughter of the late Gladys and Finnie Godwin. In the past, Jane was very involved in St. Ann's School and Church in Wilmington, DE where she loved working in the kitchen. She was currently a member of Holy Family Church in Newark, DE. During recent years, she enjoyed being an active member of the Newark Senior Center. Jane loved all the kids and was affectionately referred to as "Mom Mom" by many.

Jane is survived by her daughter, Lori Kendle and her husband, Tom; her son, Steven Kamenc and his wife, Korie; her son-in-law, Robert Linton; her grandchildren; Amber (Billy), Steven, Nicholas, Ryan and Cole; her great-grandchildren, Dawson and Chase; her brother, Richard Godwin and her sister-in-laws, Elaine DiStefano and Jackie Godwin. She is also survived through her extended family, Dr. Ellis and Ann Kendle, and their family along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and very special friends.

She was predeceased by her husband, Edward P. Kamenc; her daughter, Denise M. Linton; her son, Edward G. Kamenc, her grandson, Matthew Kamenc, her sisters, Joanne and Marlene and her brother Finnie.

Friends may call at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Rd., Pike Creek, on Wednesday, October 28 from 6:00-8:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Family Church, 15 Gender Rd., Newark, DE, 19713 on Thursday, October 29 at 11 am where a visitation will be held from 10-11 am. Burial will be in Cathedral Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care, 220 Continental Dr. #101, Newark, DE 19713 or Holy Family Church, 15 Gender Rd, Newark, DE 19713.
