AGE: 94 • Laurel

Sarah C. Trivits, age 94, of Laurel, DE passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by loving family on March 16, 2016. Sarah was born in Laurel a daughter of the late John E. Callaway and Rose DuBois Callaway. She graduated from Laurel High School class of 1939. Then she worked at DuPont Company in Seaford from 1939-1958. She raised her two children John R. Trivits and Annie Fellows and returned to work for Dr. Robert Carmean, DDS from 1972-1984. Sarah had also worked for Phillips Men Shop from 1984-1995 and for Sears from 1995-2002. She volunteered for Nanticoke Memorial Hospital and the Mears Center from 2002-2010. Until a few months ago she wrote "Doing the Town" for the Laurel Star. Being a very positive person she found the good in everything and really enjoyed her precious pets and birds she faithfully feed. Sarah was a member of several Bridge Clubs, Garden Clubs, Laurel Historical Society, and Laurel Alumni Association.

Sarah is survived by her son, John Trivits and wife Kim; a daughter Anne Fellows and husband Irving; grandchildren, Lindsay Trivits and Matthew Trivits and finace Lindze Baughman. Great grandchildren, Alivia Marie O'Neal. Sarah was preceded in death by her husband Alfred Trivits and her siblings, Anne C. Nipe and Edward Callaway.

Per her wishes, a Memorial Service will be held at the Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home, 700 West St. Laurel, DE on May, 29, 2016 at 2:00 pm. A celebration of her life will follow at her home in Laurel. The Rev. Tim Dukes will officiate. Donations can be made in Mrs. Trivits name to the Laurel Historical Society PO Box 102 Laurel, DE 19956 or the Wicomico County Humane Society, 5130 Citation Drive, Salisbury, MD 21804.
