Sharon Elliott Obituary
Wilmington - Age 72, passed away November 16, 2020.
Born February 10, 1948 in Scranton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Owen and Irene Burkhart (nee Langford). Sharon graduated from Clark's Summit High School in 1965 and graduated from Goldey-Beacom College in 1967.
Sharon retired from AI DuPont in 1993 after 27 years in order to manage her deceased husband's company, JC Elliott Basement and Concrete. She then returned to college to achieve a degree in Family and Communication Services from the University of Delaware. Sharon then received her Master's Degree in Social Work from Bryn Mawr College. While going to college, she participated as an amateur clarinetist in the Diamond State, Upbeats Dixieland, and New Castle Community Concert Bands; taught water aerobics at the Brandywine YMCA; and was a consultant to the Center of Hearing and Deafness in West Chester, PA. Following the loss of her husband, James, she became a Social Worker at Kendal at Longwood.
Preceded in death by her husband, James C. Elliott; she is survived by her brother-in-law, Daniel Lake, Sr. of Willow Street; niece, Pamela Sampson of West Chester, PA; nephews, Christopher Lake (Mimi) and Daniel Lake, Jr. (Doreen); step-children, David Elliott (Tammy), Cindy Ruprechy (Ken) all of Twisp, WA; 5 grandchildren, Erica (Kenny), Sam, Heather, and Jeffrey Elliott all of Wilmington, DE; 7 great-nieces and great-nephews.
Due to Covid-19 concerns, graveside services will occur at a later date.

Sharon was a wonderful next door neighbor and friend (who was like family), whom I've known since I was 4 years old, although we had lost touch these past few years). My condolences to the families. Please let us know hen the service is scheduled, as my parents (Pat and Donna) and I would very much like to attend.
