Sherwin Lewis Glass
Rehoboth Beach - Sherwin Lewis Glass, 87, died at his home in Rehoboth Beach, DE, of cancer. Born in NY, raised in DC, the son of Harry & Sadie Glass, he was a longtime resident of VA and enjoyed his last 8 years in DE. Sherwin attended Catholic University where he received a Bachelor of Architecture in 1958 & a Masters of Architecture and Urban Design in 1972. He spent 18 years working as an architect in VA and DC, then 23 years with FEMA, retiring in 1998. He was always a passionate learner who loved art & music. He discovered the joy of singing when, at 60, he joined the Springfield Chorale. He enjoyed bowling, bicycling, playing piano, designing a deck for his house, and spending time with his family and his beloved dog, Mattie. Sherwin is survived by his daughter Leslie Kight; daughter Elayne Humphrey; son, William Glass; & four grandchildren. He was predeceased by his beloved daughters, Melissa Glass and Marcie Glass Kelleher. Interment is at King David Memorial Gardens in Falls Church, VA. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Delaware Hospice who provided exceptional care in the final weeks of Sherwin's life.
