Stanley A. Lukas, Jr.

AGE: 82 • Smyrna

Stanley A. Lukas, Jr., age 82 of Smyrna, DE passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on September 24, 2015.

Mr. Lukas was born March 20, 1933 in Scranton, PA, the son of the late Stanley A. Lukas, Sr. and Norah Hiddlestone Lukas Wetmore.

He retired as an Executive Secretary Treasurer of the Delaware State Counsel. For 40+ years he was the Business Agent of the Millwrights Local 1545. He was best known by his fellow union members as "Big Daddy".

Stanley enjoyed his family, his playpen which proudly housed his favorite bulldozer along with all his big equipment and tools, and also enjoyed wrestling, roller derby, auctions, junking and visiting the Poconos.

He was a member of the Masonic Order Hiram Lodge Newark, DE. The Consistory. American Legion Hawley, PA. FOP Pennsville, NJ. The Farm Bureau of DE.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by Stepfather Henry and Agnes Wetmore, his half-sister Kathleen.

He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Kathleen; his son Brian and his wife Gale Lukas, his brother Edward and his wife Rosa Lukas and his half-sister Florence.

A viewing will be held on Friday, October 2, 2015 from 11 am to 12:30 pm in the Faries Funeral Chapel, located at 29 S. Main St. in Smyrna. Funeral services will begin at 12:30 pm. Burial will follow in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear, DE.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Compassionate Care Hospice, 702-B Kirkwood Hwy., Wilmington, DE 19805.
