Stanley Thomas Ciach, Sr.

AGE: 93 • Elsmere

Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 21, 2016. Stanley was born in Wilmington to the late Frank and Mary Anna (Janiec) Ciach on November 19, 1922.Stanley faithfully served his country during World War II as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army. Upon returning home, he worked as a dedicated auto mechanic for many years. Stanley married the love of his life, Mary Kaminski on October 15, 1944.

He was a member of both the VFW 3257 Polish American and Dist. #1 VFW. Stanley volunteered with the Boy Scouts of America for over 30 years. He also served as a Commissioner of the Delmarva Council. Stanley also enjoyed spending time at the Oak Grove Senior Center.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ciach, 2004.

Stanley will be dearly missed by his daughter, Barbara A. Jones; his sons, Thomas F. Ciach, Sr. and his wife, Linda, and Stanley T. Ciach, Jr.; his three grandchildren, Matthew Jones, Chris Jones and his wife, Lori, and Thomas Ciach, Jr.; and his great-grandchildren, Maura, Chloe, Evan, and Tyler Jones; and nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at Corpus Christi R.C. Church, 901 New Rd., Elsmere, DE 19805, on Tuesday, September 27 at 11:30 am. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday morning from 10:00-11:30am. Interment will take place at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE, on Wednesday, September 28 at 10:00am. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Corpus Christi Church, 905 New Road, Wilmington, DE 19805.
