Stephen E. Jurman passed away peacefully on Monday April 18, 2016 at St. Mary's Medical Ctr., Langhorne, PA

He was born in Manhattan, NY to the late Rose E. (Doktor) and Stephen Jurman and graduated from Pope Pius XII HS in Passaic, NJ. After receiving his Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from Notre Dame University, South Bend, IN, Stephen served his country as a first lieutenant in the US Army stationed in Germany and as a commissioned officer in the Army Reserves through 1962. He worked for Hercules for 37 years as an engineer and retired in 1999. He was a member of St. Mary Magdalen Church and attended the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Delaware. He was an avid watercolor and pastel artist, as well as photographer, throughout his life and enjoyed classical music, opera, theater (Broadway) and the ballet.

Stephen is survived by his wife of 56 years, Eileen K. Jurman, 2 daughters, Kathleen Jurman of High Bridge, NJ and Lorrie Chalupa and her husband (Rudy) of Newtown, PA; 3 grandchildren, Matt, Catie and John and a brother, Robert Jurman of MI. He is also preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Rose and John Mangeney.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, April 27, from 6-8 pm at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Homes, 3924 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE. An additional viewing will be held on Thursday, April 28, at St. Mary Magdalen Church, 7 Sharpley Rd., Wilmington from 10-10:45, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11am. Burial will be St. Joseph on the Brandywine Cemetery, Greenville.
