AGE: 56 • Wilmington

Steven Mark Messick, age 56, of Wilmington, passed away on Tuesday December 8, 2015 at Christiana Hospital ICU.

Steven graduated from Glasgow High School in 1978. After graduating Steven joined the Army and proudly served from 1979 to 1985. Steven was employed at Harvey + Harvey from 1986 to 2003, he then went to Harvey Mack from 2003 to 2015. Steven was a senior diesel mechanic and he was a very hard worker and excelled in everything he did. Steven was very friendly, giving, and always did for others.

Steven was a very special son and loved very much, everyone who knew Steven always had a good word for him and everyone liked him. He loved football, especially the Baltimore Ravens. Steven also like to workout in the gym and enjoyed taking his dog on weekend trips to Cape May, NJ.

Steven was predeceased by his father, Everett C. Messick.

Steven will be forever missed by his mother Barbara Hurley (Messick) and Harry Christensen, his brothers Brian of Denver, CO, and Jeffrey of Rehobeth, his uncle Wayne (Franny), his nephew Mark and great nephew Mason of Denver, CO. His aunts and cousins, especially Darryl Wayne, his special friend Edward Kohl of Cape May, NJ, and everyone that knew him. Last but not to be forgotten his very special dog Summer and his cat, Pie.

A burial service will be held on Wednesday Decemeber 23, 2015 at 10 AM at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery 2465 Chesapeake City Rd, Bear, DE 19701. In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to the Sunday Breakfast Mission 110 Poplar St, Wilmington, DE 19801. Steven's mother and family would like to thank Jeff Volpe and Cheryl at Harvey Mack for all their help. The family would also like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff in the ICU at Christiana Hospital for the special care that Steven received. Gone but never forgotten.
