AGE: 80 • Claymont

Thomas M. Novack, age 80, of Claymont, DE died Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at Manor Care.

Thomas was born in Forestville, PA. He was the youngest of seven children born to Julia Palamar Novak and Thomas Nowak. He worked for the Claymont Steel Company for over 39 years, and part time for Hirzel Funeral Home, amongst other jobs to support his family. On his vacation weeks and during retirement, Thomas enjoyed traveling the country in his RV with his wife Dolores, children, and grandchildren.

Thomas was predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Dolores in 2013. He is survived by his children, Deborah Novack (Phyllis), Thomas R. Novack (Kellianne), Donna Volk (Joseph), Robert Novack (Helen), and Christopher Novack (Shannon); grandchildren, Missy, Brian, Skyler, Michael, Natalie, Jared, Erik and Samuel; great-granddaughter Madison; and expected great-grandson Nathan; and sister Mary Warhola.

Friends and family are invited to a viewing on Friday, September 9 from 6-8 pm at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3710 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE 19808. Another viewing will be held the following day from 9:30-10:20 at Holy Rosary Church, 3200 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE 19703. A Mass Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 am. Interment will follow the service in Lawncroft Cemetery.

The Novack family is very grateful to the many personal caregivers and the Addus Heathcare that have helped over the years.
