Veronica S. Farber Obituary
Veronica S. Farber

AGE: 67 • Townsend, DE

Veronica Sue Farber passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 20, 2016 at her home in Townsend, DE after a courageous battle with uterine cancer. She was born on August 13, 1948 in Abbs Valley, VA, the daughter of the late Sidney and Margaret (Drosick) Welch.

Roni, as she was known by friends and family, was a graduate of Newark High School and retired from W.L. Gore & Associates in Maryland. She enjoyed family gatherings, music, astronomy, cooking, the beach, camping, gardening and bird watching, especially the hummingbirds which returned each year to the many flowers and feeders in her yard.

A truly kindhearted person, she was happiest when she could bring a smile to the faces of family and friends. Roni always had a positive outlook on life, keeping a brave and optimistic attitude even during her illness. Her giving nature continues on as she donated her body to medical research through the Humanity Gifts Registry.

Veronica is survived by her husband, John and her daughter, Andrea McCauley (fiancé, Patrick McCutcheon); her siblings, Rebecca Watson, David Welch (Helen), Bernard Welch (Trudy), Ellen Jourdan-Jones (Miles), Sidney Welch (Theresa); brother in-law, Joseph Farber; sisters-in-law, Rose Ann Truselo, Helen Farber, Barbara Peck (Addison) and Patricia Farber; as well as many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Karen Buchanan.

Family and friends are invited to visit at Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE on Saturday, April 2 from 11:00 am-12 noon, with a memorial service immediately following at noon.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Veronica may be made to the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center at 4701 Ogletown-Stanton Road, Newark, DE 19713 or online at www.christianacare.org/donors.
