AGE: 96 •

Mrs. Virginia Marconi Longobardi, 96, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 6, 2016. She was a native of Wilmington, DE but resided in Wildwood, NJ for over 40 years with her husband, Dominick Longobardi (who preceded her in death in 1988) and their children, Joseph Longobardi (Bernadette Bowman), Diane Kron (Norman) and Mary Louise Sinkey (William) before returning to Wilmington in 1988. Mrs. Longobardi was a devout Catholic and a member of Our Lady of Fatima parish. She worked in banking in Wildwood and in retail upon her return to Wilmington. She was an avid reader, baker and crossword solver and a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.

In addition to her three children, Mrs. Longobardi is survived by 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and her sisters, Ann Marconi Fusca and Elaine Marconi Vignola; and a large number of nieces and nephews, cousins, and family friends.

A Viewing for family and friends will be held from 6-8PM on Tuesday evening, April 12 at the CHARLES P. ARCARO FUNERAL HOME, 2309 Lancaster Ave in Wilmington.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 9th and DuPont Sts in Wilmington, on Wednesday morning, April 13 at 11am. Entombment will follow in Cathedral Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Virginia's name to St. Anthony's Community Center, 1703 W. 10th St., Wilmington, DE 19805 or online at www.stanthonycenter.org.
