AGE: 85 • Wilmington, DE

Mrs. Washington was born on October 20, 1930 and departed this life on Thursday, April 7, 2016. Vivian was the daughter of John and Emma Porter. Vivian was a homemaker. After her children started school, Vivian went to work at the Wilmington Hospital as a housekeeper. She retired after 25 years of service. She was a loyal and faithful member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. She enjoyed singing in the choir. Vivian was preceded in death by her late husband, Albert Washington Sr., two daughters, Shirley Patton Holladay and Etta Cullers, two grandsons, Jerome Washington and Brian Harris and eight siblings, Norris, Marguerite, John, Hilton, Charles, and Clint Porter, Emma Minus and Shirley Johnson. She leaves to cherish her memory: six children, Patricia Macklin (Walter), Linda Harris (Marshall), Albert Washington Jr., (Delva), John "Charlie" Washington, Betty "Tinchie"Graham (Jerome) , and Gregory "Joe" Washington (Marsha); four sisters, Leona Redden, Helen Carter, Anna and Fannie Porter and three brothers, Herbert, Norman and Alfred Porter; 13 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren; 2 sisters-in-law, Laura Davis and Lola Mae Copeland; a few close friends through the years, Lucy Pinder, Maggie Fisher and Eleanor along with a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. There will be a public viewing on Fri., April 15th from 5pm-8pm at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 2200 N. Claymont St., Wilm, DE. Funeral 9:30am, Sat., April 16th at Ebenezer Baptist Church; viewing 8-9am only. Burial, Gracelawn Memorial Park
