AGE: 95 •

Wesley Emil Ingold died after a short illness on July 24, 2016, at Hermitage of Northern Virginia, in Alexandria, VA. He was born on May 20, 1921, in Newton, KS, to Adolf Emil and Ida Estelle (Bradford) Ingold. He served in the US Navy during World War II and often spoke of his duty on the USS (John) Hancock in the Pacific. He and Ida Jane Anseaume were married August 25, 1945, in Wilmington, DE, and after a brief period in KS, they lived there until moving to Alexandria in 2008, where Ida died in 2010. He was employed by duPont and then Astra Zeneca, retiring in 1986. For several years he volunteered with the Wilmington and Western Railroad/Historic Red Clay Valley, Inc.

He is survived by two sons, W. Thomas and his wife, Catherine, of Arlington, VA, and David A. and his wife, Marianne, of Alexandria, VA; three grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth, Thomas B. H., and Matthew David, and four great grandchildren. Interment at a later date will be at the Delaware Veterans Cemetery in Bear, DE. Memorial gifts may be made to Historic Red Clay Valley, Inc.
