Willard E. McNeal

AGE: 82 • Newark

Willard E. McNeal, age 82, longtime resident of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 9, 2017.

A native Delawarean, Will was born in Wilmington on July 31, 1934, and was the son of the late Walter J. and Florrie (Danks) McNeal. He proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army. A career Chrysler employee, Will worked on the assembly line until his retirement after 31 years of dedicated service.

An avid outdoorsman, he spent many hours duck hunting. Will enjoyed coin collecting in his leisure time and was a longtime member of the Delaware Saengerbund. Above all else, he was happiest in the company of his beloved wife, family, and friends.

In addition to his parents, Will was preceded in death by his wife, Annemarie W. McNeal; sisters, Phyllis Dreisbach and Marguerite Pieta; and brother, Walter McNeal. He is survived by his brothers, Jerry McNeal and Thomas McNeal (Gerri); sister, Eleanor Campbell (Gene); and many nieces and nephews.

Services and interment in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE, will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Will's memory to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
