AGE: 69 • Warwick, MD

William Arlie Norton, age 69, of Warwick, MD, formerly of Claymont, DE passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family Friday, December 11, 2015. Bill was a master small engine mechanic and operated the family business, Hy-Point Garage, for over 40 years. He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps reserves for 6 years. Bill was an avid race enthusiast and spent much of his teen years racing go-carts, motorcycles and Quarter Midgets. He carried on that pastime with his children for many years and was a mentor to other young people interested in racing. Bill had great love of animals and had many interests including vegetable gardening, watching NASCAR, traveling, antiquing, and enjoying outdoor concerts. He will be remembered as a kind and generous man who put others before himself and was a friend to all.

Bill leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 48 years, Linda Norton; daughter, Dawn Marie Rodenbaugh and her husband Greg of North East, MD; son, Daniel W. Norton and his wife Katja of New Castle, DE; 2 grandchildren, Julia and Hannah Rodenbaugh, both of North East, MD; brother, James H. Norton, Jr. (Anna) of Oxford, PA; sister, Barbara K. The family wishes to thank the staff of Amedysis Hospice of Greater Chesapeake as well as Linda's family for their care and support during Bill's illness.
