Bill Johnson passed away suddenly on Monday October 5, 2015.

Bill was raised in Tarborough, North Carolina by Lillie Belle and Reuben Johnson along with his sister, Betty Johnson Howie (Bill Howie). Bill and Betty's parents placed education as a high priority. Bill attended Georgia Military Academy prior to attending and graduating from Davidson College. He was the first member of his family to graduate from college (Davidson College) and was shortly thereafter followed by his sister (Duke University). Bill was also a 1st Lt in he 82d Airborne Division of the US Army. After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania Medical School he served his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at both Walter Reed and Bolling Air Force Base before beginning a successful medical practice in Wilmington, Delaware.

Bill was best known for his medical skills, his knowledge of everything and his bedside manner. He will be remembered for his love of history, scrabble and Bridge.

His wife of 50 years, Susan Allibone Budd Johnson, passed away on August 27, 2002. Sue was Bill's rock and strength. She passed away four days after their 50th anniversary.

Bill is survived by his three children, Thomas Allibone Budd Johnson, (Linda), William D. Johnson, Jr. and Chandlee Johnson Kuhn (Larry). Bill also had 8 amazing grandchildren and two great grandchildren

A private Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
