William H. Clark, Jr.

AGE: 87 • Dagsboro

William H. Clark, Jr., went home to be with the Lord on June 3, 2016 at his home in Dagsboro, formerly of Elsmere and Hockessin.

He was a Deacon and Elder at the Ocean View Presbyterian Church. He was a 60 plus year life member of Hockessin and Elsmere Fire Companies. He was Chief of Elsmere Fire Company, Past President of New Castle County Fire Chief's Association and New Castle County Volunteer Firefighter's Association.

He worked for DP&L for 37 ½ years, retiring in 1988 to Dagsboro and the beach.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Evelyn; his daughters, Deborah Wardell and Carol Curran; his son, David Clark and his wife Leslie; his grandchildren James T. Curran, Jr., and his wife Niki, Amanda Wardell, Stephanie Wardell, Teresa Campbell and her husband Ben, Michelle Mitchell and her husband Matt, DJ Clark and his wife Chrissy; his great grandsons, Benjamin Campbell, Mason Campbell, Hunter Curran, JT Curran, Grayson Clark, MJ Mitchell and Nolan Clark and his brother-in-law, Graham Bloxom.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William H. Clark, Sr. and Marjorie K. Clark (Bair); his sister, Kathryn Bloxom; his brother, Paul T. Clark, Sr. and son-in-law, James T. Curran, Sr.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Compassionate Care Hospice for their exceptional care and support.

A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at the Ocean View Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 38040 Muddy Neck Rd., Ocean View, DE 19970. A viewing will also be held at the Elsmere Fire Company on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m., followed by a fireman's funeral. Burial will follow at Gracelawn Memorial Park.
