AGE: 11 • Wilmington

Thomas Robert Thiemann, 11, of Wilmington, DE, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, July 15, 2014.

Tommy attended St. John the Beloved Grade School through 4th grade, had just completed 5th grade at Linden Hill Elementary School and was excited to begin middle school at The Independence School. He was a member of St. John the Beloved Parish, where he was an altar server and Cub Scout.

An avid sports fan, Tommy played baseball with Midway Little League, basketball with St. John the Beloved, and soccer with Delaware Rush. In addition, he enjoyed playing street hockey, roller blading, rock climbing, golfing, swimming at his Aunt Bev's pool, and bike riding. Tommy also enjoyed spending time at the beach, playing the piano and clarinet, chess, Pokémon, reading, and anything he could do on his Kindle, including watching Youtube videos. Tommy loved learning and was always willing to try anything new or different. Tommy had a huge heart and loved life. He will live on through the people he helped with his Gift of Life.

Tommy will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by his parents, Daniel and Marianne (Muller) Thiemann; his siblings, Emily, Danny and Julie; his grandfather, Donald Thiemann; his grandfather, Robert Muller; his grandmother, Mary Muller; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was predeceased by his grandmother, Barbara Thiemann.

Family and friends are invited to visit at St. John the Beloved Church, 907 Milltown Road, Wilmington on Friday, July 18 from 3:00-7:00PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the church on Saturday, July 19 at 10:00AM. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. The family would like to thank the PICU staff at A. I. Dupont Hospital for Children for their kindness and care.
