Cheri Marie BLUM

Cheri Marie Blum Cheri Marie Blum, 34, went home to be with the Lord by the beautiful Sas-safras River, Georgetown, MD on November 4, 2003. Cheri was born on Sep-tember 24, 1969, in Baltimore, MD daughter of Joseph and Joanne Novotny Blum. She was a 1987 graduate of St. Mark's High School in Wilmington and had followed her dream of becoming an artist when she entered the fine arts program at Marywood University, Scranton, PA, and graduating from the University of Delaware in 1991. Ms. Blum is world renowned for her applied artistry, where she has perfected a method of painting on cracked linen that conjures up images of Italian frescos. Cheri is survived by her loving parents, Joseph and Joanne Blum of Earleville, MD; 3 brothers, Christopher and his wife, Denise Blum of Warwick, MD, Craig E. Blum of Egg Harbor Township, NJ and Cary A. Blum of Wilmington, DE; her maternal grandparents, Frank and Genevieve Novotny of Hanover, PA; 2 nephews, Chase Blum and Evan Blum; a niece, Cassidy Blum; and sadly missed by her extended family and dear friends. Friends may call on Sunday, November 9, from 3-7 pm at the Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church, 901 New Road, Elsmere, DE and from 9:15-9:45 am on Monday, November 10, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am. Interment will be in St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Chesapeake City, MD. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be offered to establish a Cheri Blum Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o St. Mark's High School, 2501 Pike Creek Rd., Wilmington, DE 19808.
