Eugene Russell Bradfield

Eugene Russell Bradfield, age 54, of Newark, DE, passed from this life to his heavenly home on Friday December 21, 2012. He was the son of the late Alfred Shirley Bradfield and Iva Price Bradfield. Gene was a 1976 graduate of Glasgow High School, 1980 graduate of Lee College in Cleveland, Tennessee and in 1982 graduated from the University Of Miami Law School. He was licensed to practice law in New Jersey, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. He worked for many years for Senior Consult in New Jersey as Legal counsel. He attended Praise Assembly in Newark for more than 20 years and taught the junior class in the Sunday school for many years. He loved all children and was "Uncle Gene" to many kids throughout the years.

He is survived by his mother, brother Jeffery, sister and husband Liz and Sean Luther, nephews John (Brittany) and Alex Bradfield, Eric and Jonathan Luther, nieces Kim (Manny) Perez and Katy Bradfield, Goddaughter Haley Cashman and her sister Elissa Cashman, special uncle Thelbert Price (Pam) and special aunt Loraine Crookshanks (Joe), and great-niece Lily Perez and great-nephew Dalton Bradfield. He will be remembered by many as the quiet, friendly, loving and Christian man that he was.

Special thanks to the staff at Hillside Center, where he has been a patient since September of 2010, for their care and friendship.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Royal Rangers at Praise Assembly, 1421 Old Baltimore Pike, Newark, DE 19702 or the Youth Fund at the Elkton Church of God 1121 Singerly Rd, Elkton, MD 21921.

A visitation will be held on Saturday December 29, 2012 from 11-1pm at Beeson Funeral Home, 4053 Pulaski Hwy, Newark, DE 19702 followed by a Home Going service at 1pm. A Committal Service will be held on Monday December 31, 2012 at 11am at Gracelawn Memorial Park in New Castle, DE.
