F. Richard Neikirk Obituary
F. Richard Neikirk

F. Richard Neikirk went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 16, 2013 at the age of 88. Formerly of Hagerstown, MD, he and his family have resided in Delaware since 1947. He was a gentle, kind man who loved the Lord Jesus Christ and family greatly. Mr. Neikirk served as treasurer for various area churches and organizations. He retired from DuPont financial services in 1984 after 37 years. He participated in the band celebrating 150th Anniversary of DuPont in 1952, was a member of local quartets and many local choirs. His favorite past-time was railroading.

Mr. Neikirk graduated from Juanita College in 1947. He will be remembered for being easily approachable, his love and concern for all, his desire to encourage and pray for everyone. Interest in instruction of the Scriptures was of prime importance in his life. He gladly supported missionary efforts here in the U.S and abroad. He looked forward to being ushered in to the presence of God.

He is survived by a family who will miss him greatly, but rejoice that it is a temporary separation; his loving wife, whom he adored, Suzanne; his sons, Dr. F. Richard Neikirk Jr., and Rev. Jeffrey S. Neikirk; daughters, Lisa Campanella and Lori MacMicking; 10 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren were blessed to call him, 'Granddad'.

A service will be held on Friday, February 22, 2013 at Strano & Feeley Family Funeral Home, 635 Churchmans Road, Newark, DE 19702 at 1pm. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that gifts be made in Mr. Neikirk's honor to: Campus Outreach, Bellomy Acct. #3102, P.O.
