Dolores Read Redefer, age 79, died on Friday, June 2, 2017. She was born in Patchogue, NY to Henry and Margaret (Southard) Read and was the third of eleven children.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her beloved husband of 51 years, John E. Redefer, Jr. Dolores and Jack lived both full and part-time in Dewey Beach/Rehoboth for their entire marriage.

Dolores was a proud graduate of Seton Hall High School in Patchogue, NY. After raising her children, she took many classes towards her college degree at the Delaware Parallel Program. She was a dedicated sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, homemaker and caretaker. Dolores was a good friend to many and a dedicated friend of Bill W. for 45 years. Her favorite spot was her porch; she loved to be there either alone in quiet contemplation or in long lively conversations with friends and family. Dolores had an artist's eye and enjoyed creating and sharing beautiful things with everyone. Dolores will be remembered for her great style; from her fashion, to home décor to floral design. She was a woman of great faith and dedication to God.

Dolores is survived by her children TJ (Bobbie) Redefer, Beth (John) Caruso, Chris (Cindy) Redefer, Juli (Bob) Mills, and Justin (Vanessa) Redefer; 10 grandchildren (Leigh Ann, Jack, Carolyn, Michael, Katie, Christopher, Ethan, Grace, Emily and Eve) and numerous nieces and nephews. She is survived by her ten brothers and sisters Henry (Ann) Read, Alice (the late Jim) Desmond, James (Ronnie) Read, Peter (Carole) Read, John (the late Lillian) Read, Margaret (Stanley) Pawlowski, Mary (Don) Wilson, Paul (Luise) Read, Teresa (Ed) Rosavitch, Joseph (Kathy) Read.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, on Tuesday, June 6, 2017, at St. Edmond Catholic Church, 409 King Charles Avenue, Rehoboth Beach, DE where friends may call beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Epworth Methodist Cemetery, Henlopen Avenue, Rehoboth Beach.

Friends may also call from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, June 5, 2017 at Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE.
