Barbara K. Levy
Wilmington - Age 81, passed away November 9, 2017 after a protracted battle with Alzheimer's.
Born March 1, 1936 in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of Michael and Freda Korotkin. She was a long time resident of Wilmington, DE where she worked in real estate since the mid 1970's. Barbara volunteered at the Candlelight Dinner Theater for many years. In addition, she was active and volunteered at Temple Beth Emeth, Meals on Wheels, and the annual Arden Fair.
Barbara graduated from Girls High in Philadelphia in 1954 and attended Temple University majoring in mathematics. She then went to work for GE Corp and was involved in early computer science with GE's fledgling space program. She loved to travel and visited countries from Europe to the South Pacific. Late in life she enjoyed introducing her grandchildren to museums and the theater. She also had a fondness for dogs and cats, of which she had many over the years.
Barbara is survived by her daughter, Sandra Goldsborough of Manahawkin, NJ; her son, Alan Levy of Wilmington, DE; and her granddaughter, Serena Levy. No services are planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Faithful Friends Animal Society (www.faithfulfriends.us) in her name.
