William A. "Billy" Adams Obituary
William A. Adams, "Billy, Little A", 52, of Media, passed away suddenly on July 21, 2017.
Billy was born and raised in Broomall, (Lawrence Park). He was a 1982 graduate of Cardinal O'Hara High School and later went on to earn his Bachelor's degree from Albright University.
Billy was retired from PECO after 29 years of employment at both their Eddystone Power Plant Station and their Center City Philadelphia headquarters. He was currently employed by Craftmen's Company in Broomall.
Billy's passion in life was two-fold, athletics and family. He was a Football coach and mentor to young men in the Rose Tree Colts Organization, Williamson College of Trades, Cardinal O'Hara High School, and most recently was named Head Football Coach of the Penncrest High School Freshman Football team. Billy was a long time and passionate Notre Dame Football, Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies fan. He was a loyal supporter of Media Rugby Football Club and the biggest fan of any sport or activity his many nieces or nephews were involved in.
Billy's truest passion though was his family. He is survived by the love if his life Terri (Harahan) of 22 years. Also survived by his father, William Adams, predeceased by his mother Joan. He is survived by his sisters Kathleen Schieler (Fred), Maureen Katona (Tom) and Joan Friderichs (Mike), many sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
Even though he has left us, Billy's loyalty to us will remain unwavering because he will remain a part of each of us. The smile that lit up the room will never go dim, the man you didn't know when you walked in the room, yet was your friend by the time you left will never be far. So, whenever you hear the Notre Dame fight song, whenever the ball of your favorite team falls their way, whenever you see a red plastic straw think of our Billy and know that his love, luck and loyalty isn't too far away.
Family and friends are invited to his Viewing, Wednesday, July 26, 2017, 5:00pm St. Pius X Church, 220 Lawrence Road, Broomall, PA 19008. Funeral Mass, Thursday July 27, 2017 11:00am St. Pius X Church, Broomall, PA. Burial Calvary Cemetery, Media, PA.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donation be made to The Alzheimer's Foundation, Joan's Four Leaf Clovers in memory of Billy's Mom or the Wounded Warriors Project.
