Otto Muller Obituary

Dr. Otto Freidrich Muller, died peacefully in his home at the age of 84 on Monday, December 17, 2012.
Dr. Muller was born in Aue, Germany on July 19th 1928. He received his education in Leipzig, Germany and later, in Marlburg, Germany where he studied to become a physician.
In 1954, he came to Atlantic City, NJ as a resident through the Ventor Foundation; he studied pathology at Philadelphia General Hospital in 1956 where he finished his residency in cardiology and internal medicine.
In 1963, Otto moved his practice to Fitzgerald Mercy Catholic Medical Center (MCMC) in Lansdowne, PA, as Director of Research & Education and Co-Director in the Department of Medicine.
In 1973, Otto was named Chairman of Medicine and Cardiology at MCMC and practiced medicine with the Mercy Health System Family for over 35 years. He rose to serve as President of the American Heart Association S.E. Chapter in 1980-1982, and in his semi-retirement years, worked with the Kelly Cardiovascular Group where he practiced for another 10 years.
Dr. Muller was a wonderful husband, father, physician, teacher and friend.
Had he not chosen his profession in medicine, surely then, he would have been a concert pianist - for his talent in music was as large as his talent in medicine.
The love of his life, his wife, Marguerite Claire Muller of 50 years, died in December 2007.
Survivors: His 4 children: Heidimarie Starr, Monica Lynn Robbins, Otto Martin Muller and Roland Wayne Muller; 10 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild.
A Celebration of Dr. Muller's Life will take place at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital on Friday January 25th, 2013 in Conference Rooms B&C in the Medical Science Building 3 to 6 PM.
Private Burial Ceremony for Dr. Muller and family will take place Saturday May 11th, 2013 at his residence.

Dr Muller was a very kind, dear man! As the babysitter for his four children for over 8 years, I was privileged to know him! A very special man with a huge HEART! He will be missed. May he be at peace:)

I will never forget Dr. Muller, It was in 1963, I was a 16 years old a Sophomore at Monsignor Bonner, and had been ordered to bed after being diagnosis with Rheumatic Fever, after 3 months of complete bed rest(lying flat in bed,24 hrs a day with no excitement(?) Not clear how this came about but a young Dr Muller was contacted and he actually came to my home,a house visits which eventually led to my getting out bed with limited restrictions and eventually a return to normal activity. It was a memorable time in my life when I met Dr Muller, and I have never forgotten the memory of those
house visits. God Bless and Thank you again.
