1919-2015 Edith June Davis (nee Steele), age 96 of Aldan, died at Little Flower Manor Nursing Home on June 14, 2015. Mrs. Davis was born in Philadelphia to the late Richard and Edith (nee Hansen) Steele. Edith was a graduate of Upper Darby High in 1937, University of Pennsylvania in 1948, Glassboro State College and Baptist Theological Seminary. She was a school teacher retiring in 1984 working in Millville Public School, Franklinville School, Paulsboro High School, Clayton Public School, Lima Public School, Folcroft Elementary School, Willingboro School District and Christian Academy. She travelled extensively in Western Europe and after her retirement she took many courses in Egyptology. She also played several instruments; oil painted and enjoyed gardening, watching the Phillies, professional tennis, golf and activities at Little Flower with her good friend Kitty Curran. Predeceased by her husband Ronald Spencer Davis. Survivors: stepdaughter, Janet (Brian) Sturgess of Romsey England; step grandsons, James (Stacey) & David (Amy) Sturgess; step great grandchildren, Thomas, Ethan and Evalyn. Also survived by cousins; Joan Roach & Doris Souder, beloved relatives; Frances and Clair Hansen, longtime Aldan neighbor and dear friend; Irma Mason. Visitation: Friday 7:00 – 9:00 PM at Williams Lombardo Funeral Home, 33 W. Baltimore Ave., Clifton Heights, PA 19018. Funeral Service: Saturday, 10:00 AM at the Grace Reformed Episcopal Church, 523 Clifton Ave., Collingdale, PA 19023. Burial: Edgewood Memorial Park.
