Joseph A. Zonko
Delmar—Joseph A. Zonko, 62, of Delmar, passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford.
He was born May 23, 1950 in Long Neck, Delaware, a son of the late Charles and Kathryn Zonko.
Joe worked at Del-Tech, Georgetown Campus for over 30 years. In his free time, he enjoyed gardening and carpentry work. He loved his family, and will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda "BJ" Zonko; a daughter, Sarah Murray of Dagsboro; a step-daughter, Julie Swinney of Delmar; a step-son, Scott Paradis (Cindy) of Delmar; two brothers, Michael Zonko (Pat) of Milton and Charles Zonko (Bonnie) of Fenwick; four grandchildren, Britany Brooks, Alec Swinney, Morgan Paradis and Douglas Murray, Jr.; an aunt, Doris Williams of Salisbury; an uncle, Earl Lingo (Doris Ann) of Georgetown; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 5, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at Short Funeral Home in Delmar. Family and friends may call one hour prior to the service. A reception will follow the service at the Delmar V.F.W. Post 8276 on State Street in Delmar.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Nanticoke Cancer Care Center, 801 Middleford Road, Seaford, DE 19973.
