Phyllis L. Davis Seibel

WILMINGTON — Phyllis L. Davis Seibel, 82, formerly of Wilmington, died on Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012, at the Rose Court at Maris Grove. Born in Middletown, N.Y., Phyllis has resided in Maris Grove since 2008 and was a longtime resident of Selbyville and Wilmington.

She graduated from the University of Maryland in 1950, and later from the University of Delaware, where she received her master's degree. She was employed by the Delaware School System as a teacher in remedial reading. She was a longstanding member of the First Unitarian Church in Wilmington. She dedicated her life to teaching and also volunteered as an aide in the Mount Pleasant School District.

Phyllis is survived by her husband of 17 years, Arthur D. Seibel; two children, James and Daniel Davis; three stepchildren, Lorissa, Eric and Nicole Seibel; five grandchildren; four step grandchildren; and a brother, Horton Lain.

Her memorial service will be held on Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012, at 2:30 p.m., at the Chapel at Maris Grove, Cardinal Building, 200 Maris Grove Way, Glen Mlls, Pa. 19342. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Phyllis' name to public television WHYY, 150 N. 6th St., Philadelphia, Pa. 19106.
