Art Sachs (Colonel Retired)

OCEAN PINES—Art Sachs (Colonel Retired), 81, died in his home Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012. Art Sachs was born in Manhattan, N.Y. Graduated Bachelors from NYC, Master from Richmond University Graduated Presidio of Monterrey in Mandarin Chinese. Served with the 1st Infantry in the Occupation of Germany. Served in Vietnam, where he was awarded a Bronze star. Member of Persian Riffle Society.

Moved to Northern Virginia in 1970, retired from the Department of Justice. Upon retiring he and his wife, Billie Jo Sachs Moved to Ocean Pines.

Art was a member of the Anglers Club, served on the Board of Ocean Pines. He was active with Make Wish foundations and his Temple Bat Yam.

He enjoyed his retirement by staying active in the community, watching the Redskins, fishing with his friends and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Billie Jo Sachs, and his

daughters Deborah L. Kelley and Sharon L. Sachs and grandson Ryan Cook all from Northern Virginia area.

Art will be truly missed by his friends and family. He was a man of integrity with a love for life and an easy laugh.

Burial and Services to follow in Arlington Cemetery.
